Nashville Post: Q&A with Ian Nott, Xuron CEO

Health care tech company leader talks pioneering AI virtual humans concept in continuing medical education

Since launching in early 2024, Xuron has been redefining continuing medical education with AI-powered simulations that let clinicians practice high-stakes patient interactions, from delivering difficult diagnoses to navigating palliative care, while earning credits. In a recent Q&A with The Nashville Post, CEO Ian Nott said:

“A few years ago when we set out, we pioneered the concept of AI virtual humans in continuing medical education (CME). Our name, Xuron comes from an Ancient Greek word, tied to a “razor” or “sharp edge.” And that “edge” is exactly what has put us in a de facto leadership position in this category today. We are already seeing newer companies, and teams from other markets, trying to model what we pioneered and to compete.”

“With our multi-year head start, we’re excited to showcase the tools and workflows we’ve been building behind the scenes. Over the next few years, the format of training Xuron created will become increasingly commonplace across health care training. I’m excited for the years ahead as we continue to entrench the moat we’ve established in CME, and expand further into adjacent health care training markets.”

Headquartered in Nashville, Xuron has grown rapidly with support from local investors including 3LS Ventures, LaunchTN, and Music City PrEP Clinic. Recent milestones include publishing measurable outcomes in the Alliance for Continuing Education in the Health Professions Almanac and launching large-scale training programs for thousands of learners. With its pioneering AI virtual human technology, Xuron continues to lead in healthcare training and expand into new markets.
